
Graphite electrode is mainly made of petroleum coke and needle coke as raw material, coal pitch as binding material, through calcination, batching, kneading, pressing, roasting, graphitization and machining to final product. It can be classified into ordinary power, high power and ultra-high power grade according to its quality index.
Graphite electrode is an important high-temperature conductive material for steelmaking in electric furnace. Through the graphite electrode, electric energy is input to the electric furnace. Graphite electrode is widely used in the smelting of various metals, but its deficiency lies in its poor oxidation resistance at high temperature. To enhance the oxidation resistance of graphite electrode, the method of graphite electrode impregnation is usually adopted.
